East Village: Chubby Tan, a restaurant focusing on Sendai-style gyutan-yaki (grilled beef tongue), is opening on Saturday, March 7, from the restaurant group behind Chubby Skewers. Chubby Tan is the first U.S. extension of Gyutan no Lemon, a restaurant that was founded in Tokyo in 2018. The grilled beef tongue set meal will feature beef tongue soup and beef tongue curry with sides of rice, grated yam, and salad, though a la carte options will also be available. 239 East Fifth Street, at Second Avenue
