CHUBBY NORI
A Chinatown restaurant plans to open a new hand roll sushi eatery in its second-floor space and is looking to raise money through a crowdfunding campaign to do so.
Chubby Cattle Philadelphia plans to begin construction on Chubby Nori in late December or early January. David Zhao, a founding partner of the ownership group Chubby Cattle International, said he hopes to have the second-floor space at 146 N. 10th St. open in February.
Chubby Nori is expected to span about 2,000 square feet. The space it will occupy on the second floor of Chubby Cattle Philadelphia has largely been empty since the restaurant opened in late 2018. Zhao said there were always plans to put something in the space as a part of a “second phase” of growth for the restaurant.
