Michigan’s first Asian-themed district expanding with addition of Sakura Gardens

by | blog, Press

The Sakura Novi project is the first Asian-themed mixed-use development in Michigan. Developers say they wanted to transform the area into a themed hot spot for food and shopping. In the center of that development is Sakura Gardens, a large pond surrounded by walking paths, cherry blossom trees, a community plaza and family play areas. The gardens also connect directly to more than 100 nearby townhome-style residences.

The garden dedication will be hosted by partners Scott Aikens and Phil Kim, with Novi Mayor Justin Fischer joining the celebration. The event follows the morning grand opening of Paris Baguette, a French-inspired, Korean-crafted bakery café within the Sakura development.

Other current and upcoming tenants include Klawsome!, Michigan’s first claw-machine arcade; Chubby Cattle Wagyu Shabu House; Teso Life, a Japanese department store; Dancing Pine Korean Steak House; Cloud Boba Tea; and Book Off, Japan’s largest secondhand bookstore chain opening its very first Midwest location.
